This vulnerability, known as Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS), allows a remote attacker to provide specially crafted regular expressions to the public detection API. This can cause catastrophic backtracking, leading to a worker process consuming 100% CPU indefinitely and resulting in a denial of service for the entire guardrails-mediated LLM pipeline.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-1333"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:53261","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:53262","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:53263","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:60520","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:65126"],"products":["redhat:openshift_ai"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-15154","score":0.00476,"percentile":0.40817,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
