{"cve":"CVE-2026-14498","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-16T05:16:46.360","modified":"2026-08-20T12:48:10.287","status":"Deferred","description":"The Query Wrangler plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 1.5.57 via the 'options' parameter parameter. This is due to missing capability check and nonce verification on the wp_ajax_qw_form_ajax handler, combined with unsanitized attacker-controlled options fully replacing saved query options and being passed directly to call_user_func_array() guarded only by function_exists(). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to execute code on the server. Exploitation requires only that at least one query row exists in the database, as the query_id is a small enumerable integer with no further access control.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-434"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/query-wrangler/trunk/admin/ajax.php#L11","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/query-wrangler/trunk/admin/templates/preview-json.php#L8","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/query-wrangler/trunk/includes/fields/callback_field.php#L47","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/query-wrangler/trunk/query-wrangler.php#L147","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3640744%40query-wrangler&new=3640744%40query-wrangler"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:10.689564601+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-14498","score":0.01027,"percentile":0.63627,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
