{"cve":"CVE-2026-14482","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-08T05:16:26.840","modified":"2026-07-08T14:55:07.843","status":"Deferred","description":"The 多说社会化评论框 plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.2. The vulnerability exists due to a missing capability and nonce check on a directly web-accessible API endpoint, combined with a trivially forgeable HMAC-SHA1 signature keyed on an always-empty WordPress option, which allows the endpoint's `update_option` handler to pass attacker-controlled `option` and `value` parameters directly to WordPress's `update_option` function without any allowlist or sanitization. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options — such as setting `default_role` to `administrator` and enabling open registration — and subsequently register an account with full administrator privileges.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-269"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/duoshuo/tags/1.2/LocalServer.php#L49","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/duoshuo/tags/1.2/LocalServer.php#L54","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/duoshuo/tags/1.2/api.php#L40","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/732c7ccd-de50-4e27-8cb9-3bb0ed30f0b4?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:42:16.820116992+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-14482","score":0.00587,"percentile":0.4811,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
