{"cve":"CVE-2026-13732","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-31T20:17:02.180","modified":"2026-10-14T19:17:14.033","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"A flaw was found in GDB's STABS debug format parser. The\nread_member_functions() function in gdb/stabsread.c contains a linked\nlist removal bug in the code that separates destructor and non-destructor\nmember functions of C++ classes. The bug causes the destructor entries to\nremain in the main function list while the list length counter is\ndecremented, resulting in an out-of-bounds write when the function list\nis copied to its final allocated array. An attacker can craft an ELF\nbinary with malicious .stab and .stabstr sections that triggers this\nout-of-bounds write when a user opens the file in GDB and performs any\nsymbol-inspection operation such as setting a breakpoint. The inferior\nprocess does not need to be executed. Under controlled conditions, this\nwas demonstrated to achieve execution of arbitrary commands within the\nGDB process.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.0},"cwes":["CWE-787"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:73425","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:73426","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:73427","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:79357","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:82447"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:50.842544443+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-13732","score":0.00133,"percentile":0.02789,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
