{"cve":"CVE-2026-13097","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-20T11:16:20.293","modified":"2026-10-15T06:17:01.940","status":"Modified","description":"A privilege escalation flaw was found in FreeIPA. The uniqueness constraint enforced on Kerberos principal name attributes in the 389-ds directory server does not properly account for equivalent representations of the same principal name, allowing a user with sufficient LDAP write privileges to create a service principal that impersonates an existing privileged one. This can lead to unauthorized acquisition of Kerberos service tickets for sensitive services, potentially resulting in full domain compromise.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":8.7},"cwes":["CWE-706"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:70564","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:72279","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:82935","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:83083","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:83084"],"products":["freeipa:freeipa","redhat:enterprise_linux"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:38.260478770+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-13097","score":0.00611,"percentile":0.48929,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
