The extension incorrectly trusts all Markdown content in JavaDoc hovers, allowing a malicious Java file to include hidden commands. If a user clicks a specially crafted link within a JavaDoc hover popup, an attacker can execute arbitrary VS Code commands, which can lead to full system compromise in trusted workspaces.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-88"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:36820","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-12856","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2491278","https://github.com/redhat-developer/vscode-java/security/advisories/GHSA-7qv8-6qrw-3crv","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:36820"],"products":["redhat:openshift_dev_spaces"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-12856","score":0.00549,"percentile":0.4567,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
