{"cve":"CVE-2026-12736","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-24T04:16:51.357","modified":"2026-07-24T20:45:45.697","status":"Deferred","description":"The Wpify Woo plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to, and including, 5.4.16. This is due to the SettingsApi::save_option() REST route (POST /wp-json/wpify-woo/v1/option) passing the request-supplied 'option' and 'data' parameters directly to update_option() without any option-name allowlist or value sanitization, while the permission_callback only verifies the manage_woocommerce capability. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Shop Manager-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to Administrator by overwriting arbitrary WordPress options (for example setting default_role to administrator and users_can_register to 1, or disabling security plugins via active_plugins).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.0},"cwes":["CWE-269"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpify-woo/tags/5.4.10/src/Api/SettingsApi.php#L39","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpify-woo/tags/5.4.10/src/Api/SettingsApi.php#L67","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpify-woo/tags/5.4.10/src/Managers/ApiManager.php#L18","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpify-woo/tags/5.4.9/src/Api/SettingsApi.php#L39","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpify-woo/tags/5.4.9/src/Api/SettingsApi.php#L67"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:53.305392138+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-12736","score":0.00553,"percentile":0.46227,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
