{"cve":"CVE-2026-1237","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-28T15:16:16.363","modified":"2026-06-17T10:15:22.627","status":"Deferred","description":"Vulnerable cross-model authorization in juju. If a charm's cross-model permissions are revoked or expire, a malicious user who is able to update database records can mint an invalid macaroon that is incorrectly validated by the juju controller, enabling a charm to maintain otherwise revoked or expired permissions. This allows a charm to continue relating to another charm in a cross-model relation, and use their workload without their permission. No fix is available as of the time of writing.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:L/SI:L/SA:L","score":2.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-347","CWE-672"],"references":["https://github.com/juju/juju/security/advisories/GHSA-j477-6vpg-6c8x"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-1237","score":0.00142,"percentile":0.03498,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j477-6vpg-6c8x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j477-6vpg-6c8x","summary":"Juju has broken CMR authorization","modified":"2026-02-03T03:03:41.346172Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/juju/juju","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/juju/juju","ranges":["<=0.0.0-20260127110037-9b1a0e53a4a4"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4388","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4388","summary":"Juju has broken CMR authorization in github.com/juju/juju","modified":"2026-03-03T04:57:56.778361Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/juju/juju","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/juju/juju","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
