{"cve":"CVE-2026-118663","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-28T21:16:56.543","modified":"2026-10-28T21:16:56.543","status":"Received","description":"@hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js. From 1.19.10 until 2.1.3, serveStatic decodes a request path a second time after Hono has already decoded it for routing, so a malformed percent-encoded sequence can make route middleware evaluate an encoded path while static file resolution uses a different directory. An unauthenticated attacker can bypass middleware mounted on a protected static prefix and read a file inside the configured static root, although the flaw does not permit traversal outside that root. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-174"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/node-server/commit/982179278529d5673812116b042829f27794966f","https://github.com/honojs/node-server/releases/tag/v2.1.3","https://github.com/honojs/node-server/security/advisories/GHSA-rmxm-3fg6-px4f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-28T21:45:43.571453220+00:00"},"epss":null,"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rmxm-3fg6-px4f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rmxm-3fg6-px4f","summary":"@hono/node-server: `serveStatic` decodes the request path a second time, leading to bypass of middleware on static paths","modified":"2026-10-28T21:15:04.153052864Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@hono/node-server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40hono/node-server","ranges":[">=1.19.10 <2.1.3"],"fixed":["2.1.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
