{"cve":"CVE-2026-116690","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-27T20:17:14.340","modified":"2026-10-27T20:17:14.340","status":"Received","description":"MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 3.10.0 until 3.17.0, the prompt branch in _create_model_version() accepts schemeless relative sources because path validation runs only when a source has a URL scheme, and mlflow.prompt.is_prompt is interpreted by tag presence rather than a true value. A remote caller can store a server-local path as the model version artifact location and use /api/2.0/mlflow/model-versions/get-artifact to read files accessible to the MLflow server process. Default unauthenticated servers require no privileges, while basic-auth deployments are exposed to authenticated users who can create registered models. This issue is fixed in version 3.17.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/mlflow/mlflow/commit/81730a2ce4ebcd60d5d18f68c96f422ad7e30772","https://github.com/mlflow/mlflow/pull/25870","https://github.com/mlflow/mlflow/releases/tag/v3.17.0","https://github.com/mlflow/mlflow/security/advisories/GHSA-m65p-9j7q-6w33"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-27T20:46:43.192369230+00:00"},"epss":null,"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m65p-9j7q-6w33","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m65p-9j7q-6w33","summary":"MLflow vulnerable to arbitrary file read on unauthenticated servers via prompt model version source","modified":"2026-10-27T21:45:04.271041704Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mlflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/mlflow","ranges":[">=3.10.0 <3.17.0"],"fixed":["3.17.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
