{"cve":"CVE-2026-116609","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-28T07:16:47.287","modified":"2026-10-28T07:16:47.287","status":"Received","description":"The WP Visitor Statistics (Real Time Traffic) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the 'from' (and sibling 'to'/'first'/'second') shortcode attribute of the [wsm_showTrafficStatsList] shortcode in versions up to, and including, 8.8 This is due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied attribute and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query: `shortcode_atts()` returns attacker-supplied shortcode attributes verbatim (WP core performs no sanitization), only `$atts['id']` is re-sanitized afterward, and the raw value is then concatenated into a double-quoted SQL string literal inside `fnGetHourlyReportByDateNameTimeZone()` (`includes/wsm_db.php:1449`) and executed via `$wpdb->get_results()`. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-89"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-stats-manager/tags/8.8/includes/wsm_db.php#L1449","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-stats-manager/tags/8.8/includes/wsm_db.php#L1629","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-stats-manager/tags/8.8/includes/wsm_statistics.php#L1980","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-stats-manager/tags/8.8/includes/wsm_statistics.php#L2002","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3768203/wp-stats-manager/trunk/includes/wsm_db.php"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-28T07:37:43.411221249+00:00"},"epss":null,"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
