On a line of hex digits whose first LF has no CR before it, the digits and `.*` backtrack against each other, so a single add() takes time quadratic in the line's length. Nothing limits how long the line can be.\n\nA remote attacker can exhaust CPU in applications that pass chunked request bodies to HTTP::Body.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-1333"],"references":["https://github.com/libwww-perl/HTTP-Body/commit/954a5343d2a095b59d357f28759c5388d1169574.patch","https://metacpan.org/release/GETTY/HTTP-Body-1.24/changes"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-28T18:33:43.673322083+00:00"},"epss":null,"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
