{"cve":"CVE-2026-114141","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-21T21:17:56.667","modified":"2026-10-23T22:16:56.280","status":"Deferred","description":"toml-node is a TOML parser for Node.js and the browser. Prior to 5.0.1, the toml.parse() compiler's addTableArray() function in lib/compiler.js rescans the complete assignedPaths and valueAssignments bookkeeping sets for every array-of-tables header. Distinct [[name]] paths are not pruned, so a document with many such headers causes quadratic synchronous work and can block the Node.js event loop, denying service to other operations in the process. This issue is fixed in version 5.0.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-407"],"references":["https://github.com/BinaryMuse/toml-node/commit/609c873fffea0a27ebe5b4dd098eed2b3daf3606","https://github.com/BinaryMuse/toml-node/releases/tag/v5.0.1","https://github.com/BinaryMuse/toml-node/security/advisories/GHSA-4qx8-w7c3-pj3p"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-114141","score":0.00395,"percentile":0.3348,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4qx8-w7c3-pj3p","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4qx8-w7c3-pj3p","summary":"toml-node: Quadratic-complexity DoS via many array-of-tables headers in toml.parse()","modified":"2026-10-22T16:45:03.724071259Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"toml","purl":"pkg:npm/toml","ranges":["<5.0.1"],"fixed":["5.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
