{"cve":"CVE-2026-113728","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-20T22:19:29.740","modified":"2026-10-22T16:47:38.403","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to 1.9.2, the unauthenticated POST /api/fetch-ical endpoint validates a caller-supplied hostname with one DNS lookup and then passes the URL to fetch, which performs a separate lookup for the socket connection. An attacker controlling authoritative DNS can return a public address during validation and then rebind the hostname to a loopback, private, link-local, or cloud metadata address for the connection, causing the server to return up to 10 MB of an internal HTTP or HTTPS response. The same check-then-fetch pattern also existed in authenticated JMAP login and TOTP token-exchange flows. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/bulwarkmail/webmail/commit/3288589e5248dcc1da769cc578827a9ee1adc941","https://github.com/bulwarkmail/webmail/releases/tag/1.9.2","https://github.com/bulwarkmail/webmail/security/advisories/GHSA-24w9-8r42-8jwm"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-113728","score":0.00507,"percentile":0.42979,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
