Prior to 4.33.0, the notification module exposes PATCH and DELETE REST endpoints that perform operations directly on the underlying MongoDB collection without verifying that the requester is authenticated or owns the target notification. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker who obtains a valid notification ID can modify or permanently delete another user's notification. This issue is fixed in version 4.33.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":3.7},"cwes":["CWE-639","CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/commit/9500b8b0e1d630d5e07fbb5fd2c25ed0943845ce","https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/commit/f84fd41cbf6c22eb8d0008fc9c25df1f7130b350","https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/releases/tag/apostrophe@4.33.0","https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/security/advisories/GHSA-vwwx-px9w-crrc"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-113665","score":0.00276,"percentile":0.19849,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vwwx-px9w-crrc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vwwx-px9w-crrc","summary":"ApostropheCMS: Missing Authorization on Notification PATCH/DELETE Endpoints","modified":"2026-10-20T18:45:09.477060782Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"apostrophe","purl":"pkg:npm/apostrophe","ranges":["<4.33.0"],"fixed":["4.33.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
