{"cve":"CVE-2026-112950","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-20T16:17:05.807","modified":"2026-10-20T19:56:45.543","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Vitest is a Vite-native testing framework for JavaScript and TypeScript projects. From 4.1.11 until 4.1.12 and 5.0.3, isFileLoadingAllowed and the filesystem read interpret backslashes differently on Windows in packages/mocker/src/node/interceptorPlugin.ts. When a client can reach the Vite dev server on Windows and register a redirect mock containing backslash traversal, POSIX joining preserves a Windows backslash traversal that the later filesystem read interprets as a path separator, so the client can read a file outside server.fs.allow that the Vitest process can access. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.12 and 5.0.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/commit/15cc006aa9f8683dc5f7e895d011fa7dc751ce35","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/commit/b825313243dc55757e8d7c0f9e7a792135e13473","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/releases/tag/v4.1.12","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/releases/tag/v5.0.3","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/security/advisories/GHSA-xp26-3454-mjgp"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-112950","score":0.00455,"percentile":0.39186,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xp26-3454-mjgp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xp26-3454-mjgp","summary":"Vitest: Windows backslash traversal bypasses the @vitest/mocker redirect allowlist fix","modified":"2026-10-21T20:01:41.013649429Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@vitest/mocker","purl":"pkg:npm/%40vitest/mocker","ranges":[">=4.1.11 <4.1.12"],"fixed":["4.1.12"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@vitest/mocker","purl":"pkg:npm/%40vitest/mocker","ranges":[">=5.0.0-rc.2 <5.0.3"],"fixed":["5.0.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
