From 2.1.0-beta.7 until 4.1.12 and 5.0.3, an unauthenticated non-browser WebSocket client that can reach a development server using interceptorPlugin can register a manual mock whose attacker-controlled url createManualModuleSource inserts unescaped into generated module source. When the developer browser loads the affected module, attacker-controlled JavaScript executes on the development-server origin. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.12 and 5.0.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":4.7},"cwes":["CWE-94","CWE-116","CWE-306"],"references":["https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/commit/15cc006aa9f8683dc5f7e895d011fa7dc751ce35","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/commit/b825313243dc55757e8d7c0f9e7a792135e13473","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/releases/tag/v4.1.12","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/releases/tag/v5.0.3","https://github.com/vitest-dev/vitest/security/advisories/GHSA-qxg6-89mg-rqv8"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-112949","score":0.00336,"percentile":0.26769,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qxg6-89mg-rqv8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qxg6-89mg-rqv8","summary":"Vitest: Code injection via unauthenticated manual mock registration","modified":"2026-10-21T20:01:39.911013327Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@vitest/mocker","purl":"pkg:npm/%40vitest/mocker","ranges":[">=2.1.0-beta.7 <4.1.12"],"fixed":["4.1.12"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@vitest/mocker","purl":"pkg:npm/%40vitest/mocker","ranges":[">=5.0.0-beta.1 <5.0.3"],"fixed":["5.0.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
