{"cve":"CVE-2026-112947","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-20T16:17:05.370","modified":"2026-10-21T16:17:15.320","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Vite is a frontend tooling framework for JavaScript. From 8.2.0 until 8.2.4 and 8.3.3, the first 4 bytes of files outside of server.fs setting can be returned to the browser by a request containing ?vite-wasm-instance. Requests containing the ?vite-wasm-instance query are handled by the internal Wasm plugin's load hook. The hook removes the query and reads the resulting path directly from disk, but the server.fs checks were not applied. After reading the file, Vite attempts to parse it as WebAssembly. When that parse fails, Node and deno throws an error that contains the first 4 bytes of the file. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.2.4 and 8.3.3.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-200","CWE-209"],"references":["https://github.com/vitejs/vite/commit/b6c6d2fb3f853aab4092dc25f0d6816a96c23dff","https://github.com/vitejs/vite/commit/ba8b7ab43b4afa5d0292ab4b6e3a7b5033cc9c73","https://github.com/vitejs/vite/pull/23655","https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-vfpm-58rq-9qcg"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-112947","score":0.00502,"percentile":0.42676,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vfpm-58rq-9qcg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vfpm-58rq-9qcg","summary":"Vite: First 4 bytes of files outside of `server.fs` setting is exposed by `?vite-wasm-instance`","modified":"2026-10-21T17:00:07.443467820Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vite","purl":"pkg:npm/vite","ranges":[">=8.3.0 <8.3.3"],"fixed":["8.3.3"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vite","purl":"pkg:npm/vite","ranges":[">=8.2.0 <8.2.4"],"fixed":["8.2.4"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vite-plus","purl":"pkg:npm/vite-plus","ranges":[">=0.2.8 <1.1.0"],"fixed":["1.1.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
