{"cve":"CVE-2026-111755","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-19T18:17:00.260","modified":"2026-10-19T21:13:39.973","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"follow-redirects is a Node.js HTTP and HTTPS client wrapper that automatically follows redirects. From 1.16.0 until 1.16.1, escapeRegex leaves valid header-name metacharacters unescaped in sensitiveHeaders. When an application declares a sensitive header whose name contains ^ or | and follows a cross-origin or HTTPS-to-HTTP redirect, unescaped regular-expression metacharacters prevent the generated filter from matching the declared header name, and the credential header is forwarded to an attacker-controlled redirect target. This issue is fixed in version 1.16.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.2},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-185","CWE-200"],"references":["https://github.com/follow-redirects/follow-redirects/commit/080a76d0e125b37bf81717368a61d5dc37aa56c8","https://github.com/follow-redirects/follow-redirects/releases/tag/v1.16.1","https://github.com/follow-redirects/follow-redirects/security/advisories/GHSA-8r9p-f939-6h3c","https://github.com/follow-redirects/follow-redirects/security/advisories/GHSA-8r9p-f939-6h3c"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-111755","score":0.00471,"percentile":0.40483,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8r9p-f939-6h3c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8r9p-f939-6h3c","summary":"follow-redirects sensitiveHeaders regex escaping can expose credential headers","modified":"2026-10-20T18:00:04.701467015Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"follow-redirects","purl":"pkg:npm/follow-redirects","ranges":[">=1.16.0 <1.16.1"],"fixed":["1.16.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
