{"cve":"CVE-2026-111074","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-21T08:16:42.810","modified":"2026-10-22T17:21:57.293","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions prior to 0.63.0, the JITServer component is vulnerable to a pre-authentication remote denial of service. When processing the initial 4-byte length field of an incoming TCP connection, an integer overflow in `MessageBuffer::computeRequiredCapacity()` causes the receiving compilation worker thread to enter an infinite loop consuming ~100% CPU. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by opening a small number of crafted TCP connections to exhaust the entire worker thread pool, silently halting compilation services for all connected client JVMs.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-190","CWE-835"],"references":["https://github.com/eclipse-openj9/openj9/pull/25008","https://gitlab.eclipse.org/security/cve-assignment/-/work_items/422","https://gitlab.eclipse.org/security/vulnerability-reports/-/work_items/940"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-111074","score":0.00421,"percentile":0.36188,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
