{"cve":"CVE-2026-110735","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-14T16:17:44.467","modified":"2026-10-20T02:17:10.757","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Godot Engine through 4.7.2 has a heap out-of-bounds write in the binary resource loader (core/io/resource_format_binary.cpp, ResourceLoaderBinary::get_unicode_string). A string length is read from the resource file into a signed 32-bit integer and compared against the destination buffer size with a signed comparison, which conditionally resizes the buffer. A negative length value skips the resize; the same value is then passed to the copy routine as an unsigned byte count, where it sign-extends to a huge value, copying file-controlled data far past the undersized heap allocation. The defect is reached when the product or an exported game loads a crafted binary resource file (.res). NOTE: the Supplier's position is that the research has identified \"no security issues\" because the required attacker access is outside of the current Godot Engine threat model.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":2.5},"cwes":["CWE-195"],"references":["https://axeghost.offprint.app/a/3mvs6zo4blo23-three-memory-safety-bugs-in-godots-untrusted-file-parsers","https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/123608","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2026/10/15/3"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-110735","score":0.00155,"percentile":0.04546,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
