This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The exploit bypasses WordPress core's save-time kses sanitization entirely because the payload uses only kses-allowed elements — an attribute and
text content — and the XSS is introduced post-save when the plugin's output-buffer rewriter substitutes a double-quote-bearing
body into the attribute via predictable, unsalted ___noise___ placeholder keys.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/flying-scripts/tags/1.2.4/html-rewrite.php#L36","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/flying-scripts/tags/1.2.4/html-rewrite.php#L64","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/flying-scripts/tags/1.2.4/lib/dom-parser.php#L2112","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/flying-scripts/tags/1.2.4/lib/dom-parser.php#L2207","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/flying-scripts/tags/1.2.4/lib/dom-parser.php#L2226"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T23:00:53.604569364+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-109990","score":0.00331,"percentile":0.26105,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
