{"cve":"CVE-2026-107835","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-09T18:17:05.157","modified":"2026-10-16T17:16:41.300","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"OWASP Coraza WAF is a golang modsecurity compatible web application firewall library. Prior to 3.8.1, internal/cookies.ParseCookies in internal/cookies/cookies.go handles boundary ASCII control characters and control-only or empty cookie names differently from several backend cookie parsers. An unauthenticated attacker can craft a Cookie header so Coraza indexes or drops a cookie under a different name or value from the backend application, causing rules targeting REQUEST_COOKIES or REQUEST_COOKIES_NAMES to miss application-visible attacker data. Exploitation depends on the backend parser and affected rule scope, and interior control characters with inconsistent backend behavior are outside this advisory's remediation. This issue is fixed in version 3.8.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":4.0},"cwes":["CWE-436"],"references":["https://github.com/corazawaf/coraza/commit/0b940e197ad9983fb3aa36e84f1f81ff985461af","https://github.com/corazawaf/coraza/commit/9f8521398d1ff023b958fad0b944cac265763866","https://github.com/corazawaf/coraza/releases/tag/v3.8.1","https://github.com/corazawaf/coraza/security/advisories/GHSA-g4qm-m288-5cp9","https://github.com/corazawaf/coraza/security/advisories/GHSA-g4qm-m288-5cp9"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:01.639778232+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-107835","score":0.00298,"percentile":0.22312,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g4qm-m288-5cp9","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g4qm-m288-5cp9","summary":"Coraza has Cookie Parser Confusion","modified":"2026-10-19T21:40:49.823376643Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v3","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v3","ranges":["<3.8.1"],"fixed":["3.8.1"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-6694","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6694","summary":"Coraza has Cookie Parser Confusion in github.com/corazawaf/coraza","modified":"2026-10-19T21:40:49.823376643Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/corazawaf/coraza","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/corazawaf/coraza","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v2","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v3","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/corazawaf/coraza/v3","ranges":["<3.8.1"],"fixed":["3.8.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
