{"cve":"CVE-2026-107381","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-14T15:17:06.327","modified":"2026-10-18T14:16:54.040","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"svg-sanitizer is a PHP SVG/XML sanitizer. Prior to 1.0.0, Resolver::processReferences() in src/ElementReference/Resolver.php builds the SVG <use> reference graph with a case-sensitive href attribute predicate before cleanHrefAttributes() normalizes mixed-case names. An attacker can provide xlink:HrEf on nested <use> elements so the graph omits those references, after which the sanitizer converts the attribute to canonical xlink:href and returns the live nesting structure without applying the useNestingLimit protection. A consuming application that renders the sanitized SVG can therefore be exposed to the resource exhaustion that control is designed to prevent. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-178","CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/darylldoyle/svg-sanitizer/commit/2dff6628314de8519155b7feb218bbe132785757","https://github.com/darylldoyle/svg-sanitizer/releases/tag/1.0.0","https://github.com/darylldoyle/svg-sanitizer/security/advisories/GHSA-m9xh-6747-9r6f","https://github.com/darylldoyle/svg-sanitizer/security/advisories/GHSA-m9xh-6747-9r6f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:59:28.494260111+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-107381","score":0.00468,"percentile":0.40237,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
