{"cve":"CVE-2026-107216","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-07T18:17:19.400","modified":"2026-10-13T14:23:43.183","status":"Analyzed","description":"Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.8.1 to 2.11.0, ANCHORARRAY recursively calls the exported CalcCellValue function, creating a fresh calculation context at each cycle and bypassing in-flight and iteration controls. ANCHORARRAY calls CalcCellValue instead of cellResolver, so each recursive hop receives a new calcContext and loses cycle state. When mutually referencing dynamic-array formulas are evaluated directly or through formula-evaluating APIs, each recursion hop resets the cycle budget and prevents completion-based caches from breaking the cycle, allowing an attacker to cause a fatal Go stack overflow and abort the process. No fixed version is available as of this review.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-674"],"references":["https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/commit/ea12859e43c64d498ecf839263c5f917391f3316","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/security/advisories/GHSA-wp2g-vpjj-g53r"],"products":["excelize:excelize"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:01.639778232+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-107216","score":0.00375,"percentile":0.31208,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wp2g-vpjj-g53r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wp2g-vpjj-g53r","summary":"Excelize ANCHORARRAY: mutually-referencing array formulas recurse unboundedly via re-entrant CalcCellValue, causing a fatal stack overflow","modified":"2026-10-19T21:41:18.715896320Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.8.1 <2.11.1-0.20260911060113-ea12859e43c6"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260911060113-ea12859e43c6"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-6688","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6688","summary":"Mutually-referencing array formulas recurse unboundedly, causing a fatal stack overflow in github.com/xuri/excelize","modified":"2026-10-19T21:31:49.924461633Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.8.1 <2.11.1-0.20260911060113-ea12859e43c6"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260911060113-ea12859e43c6"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
