{"cve":"CVE-2026-107215","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-07T18:17:19.213","modified":"2026-10-13T14:23:50.540","status":"Analyzed","description":"Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.3.1 to 2.11.0, extractPart allocates a byte slice directly from an attacker-controlled CFB directory-entry size before validating the sector chain or size domain. extractPart trusts the CFB directory entry streamSize for EncryptionInfo and EncryptedPackage allocations before validating the stream. When a crafted OLE compound file declares a negative or extremely large EncryptionInfo or EncryptedPackage stream size, the declared size reaches make with a negative length or forces a multi-gigabyte allocation, allowing an attacker to panic or exhaust process memory. No fixed version is available as of this review.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-789"],"references":["https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/commit/5f636f9dcde55911f14290060b017f0cc88cd694","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/pull/2396","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/security/advisories/GHSA-x2q3-8cjh-766f","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/security/advisories/GHSA-x2q3-8cjh-766f"],"products":["excelize:excelize"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:01.639778232+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-107215","score":0.0024,"percentile":0.15006,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-x2q3-8cjh-766f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-x2q3-8cjh-766f","summary":"Excelize: extractPart allocates attacker-controlled, unbounded and negative-sized buffers from CFB directory entries: remote panic / OOM DoS","modified":"2026-10-19T21:41:17.838565606Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.3.1 <2.11.1-0.20260912113515-5f636f9dcde5"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260912113515-5f636f9dcde5"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-6689","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6689","summary":"Panic and memory exhaustion via unbounded CFB stream allocation in github.com/xuri/excelize","modified":"2026-10-19T21:31:52.826584494Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/360EntSecGroup-Skylar/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/360EntSecGroup-Skylar/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.3.1"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":["<2.11.1-0.20260912113515-5f636f9dcde5"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260912113515-5f636f9dcde5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
