{"cve":"CVE-2026-107214","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-07T18:17:19.040","modified":"2026-10-13T14:24:00.230","status":"Analyzed","description":"Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.3.1 to 2.11.0, the decryption dispatch performs insufficient structural and parameter validation before standard and agile decryptors slice, index, allocate, and divide using attacker-controlled values. Decrypt passes attacker-controlled EncryptionInfo and EncryptedPackage data into standardDecrypt or agileDecrypt before validating the structures used by those routines. When a malformed OLE compound file with a version-valid EncryptionInfo stream is opened or passed to Decrypt, nine malformed-input classes reach unrecovered Go runtime panics instead of the documented error path, allowing an attacker to terminate the calling process. No fixed version is available as of this review.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-248"],"references":["https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/commit/22f76f9acb94b85b3eb9c4365ab4f750cebbc565","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/pull/2395","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/security/advisories/GHSA-2j4c-ffch-9f23","https://github.com/qax-os/excelize/security/advisories/GHSA-2j4c-ffch-9f23"],"products":["excelize:excelize"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:01.639778232+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-107214","score":0.0024,"percentile":0.15006,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2j4c-ffch-9f23","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2j4c-ffch-9f23","summary":"Excelize Decrypt: unrecoverable panics on malformed OLE/CFB encrypted workbooks","modified":"2026-10-19T21:40:56.735377549Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.3.1 <2.11.1-0.20260915055537-22f76f9acb94"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260915055537-22f76f9acb94"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-6684","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6684","summary":"Excelize Decrypt: unrecoverable panics on malformed OLE/CFB encrypted workbooks in github.com/xuri/excelize","modified":"2026-10-19T21:31:35.702899949Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/360EntSecGroup-Skylar/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/360EntSecGroup-Skylar/excelize/v2","ranges":[">=2.3.1"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/xuri/excelize/v2","ranges":["<2.11.1-0.20260915055537-22f76f9acb94"],"fixed":["2.11.1-0.20260915055537-22f76f9acb94"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
