Prior to 2.2.4, the @backstage/plugin-techdocs-backend package is affected by improper input validation in techdocs static content requests. When using the Azure Blob Storage provider, an authenticated Backstage user may be able to read restricted TechDocs content when entity-level permissions are enabled. Deployments that intentionally disable the default backend authentication policy may have broader exposure. This issue is fixed in version 2.2.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-23"],"references":["https://github.com/backstage/backstage/commit/40ecc4c2e88b0218125b0a3405d1f6315b321974","https://github.com/backstage/backstage/releases/tag/v1.54.6","https://github.com/backstage/backstage/security/advisories/GHSA-7mfx-xg57-53c9"],"products":["linuxfoundation:backstage","linuxfoundation:backstage\\/plugin-techdocs-backend"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-106490","score":0.00369,"percentile":0.30579,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7mfx-xg57-53c9","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7mfx-xg57-53c9","summary":"Backstage: Improper input validation in TechDocs static content requests","modified":"2026-10-07T18:15:13.170035612Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@backstage/plugin-techdocs-backend","purl":"pkg:npm/%40backstage/plugin-techdocs-backend","ranges":["<2.2.4"],"fixed":["2.2.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
