From 6.22.1 until 6.64.0, Ghost restricted the content type used to serve uploaded files to prevent browsers from executing them. On sites using the default local storage adapter, this restriction was not applied, so files uploaded by any staff user were served with a content type derived from their file extension. This could be used to host scripts on the site's domain, possibly resulting in compromise of other staff users' admin sessions. This issue is fixed in version 6.64.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":7.3},"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-434"],"references":["https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/commit/58669d5c8b898f8b69c1287c2779b29ecc7eb918","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/pull/30762","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/releases/tag/v6.64.0","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/security/advisories/GHSA-gfjp-2p8f-94qv"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-105679","score":0.00237,"percentile":0.14559,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gfjp-2p8f-94qv","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gfjp-2p8f-94qv","summary":"Ghost: Stored XSS via File Uploads on Local Storage","modified":"2026-10-13T08:26:00.402598962Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"ghost","purl":"pkg:npm/ghost","ranges":[">=6.22.1 <6.64.0"],"fixed":["6.64.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
