This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-48931.\n\nThe guard that destroys idle keep-alive sockets when unexpected data arrives only runs when the event loop polls for I/O. If an unsolicited response has already reached the socket but has not been read yet when the socket is handed to a new request, for example because the event loop was busy with synchronous work, the guard is removed without seeing it and the data is parsed as the response to the new request.\n\nThis vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-367"],"references":["https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/october-2026-security-releases"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-105481","score":0.00283,"percentile":0.20598,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
