{"cve":"CVE-2026-104948","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-21T14:17:09.083","modified":"2026-10-22T16:58:51.997","status":"Deferred","description":"WarehousePG (WHPG) 6.27.1 through 6.27.6 and 7.2.1 through 7.6.0 are affected by a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the built-in cluster expansion functions gp_expand_lock_catalog() and gp_expand_bump_version(). Any authenticated database role can run them, and neither checks privileges. A low-privileged user can call gp_expand_lock_catalog() inside an open transaction to block all catalog changes across the cluster for every user, superusers included, until that transaction ends, which in practice requires a superuser to terminate the session. Blocked changes include DDL, temporary table creation, GRANT and CREATE ROLE. The same user can call gp_expand_bump_version() repeatedly. Each call disconnects sessions that hold temporary tables, with a FATAL error on their next catalog change, and makes every other session rebuild its segment connections.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://www.enterprisedb.com/docs/security/advisories/cve2026104948/"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-104948","score":0.00216,"percentile":0.11936,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
