{"cve":"CVE-2026-104102","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-12T19:16:36.713","modified":"2026-10-13T17:17:15.633","status":"Deferred","description":"copyparty is a portable file server. Prior to 1.20.19, FTP upload path handling does not confine destinations to configured copyparty volumes. When FTP or FTPS is explicitly enabled, a low-privileged authenticated user can submit traversal paths during upload to create a new file outside configured volumes wherever the copyparty process has write permission. The attacker cannot read or overwrite files, the output name receives a randomized suffix, and copyparty does not execute the file; however, unrelated software on the same host could process the newly created file. This issue is fixed in version 1.20.19.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/9001/copyparty/commit/b331bb1c8c8cc306b91e4d94221969335a7a3e86","https://github.com/9001/copyparty/releases/tag/v1.20.19","https://github.com/9001/copyparty/security/advisories/GHSA-phv8-wgjp-g4p9","https://github.com/9001/copyparty/security/advisories/GHSA-phv8-wgjp-g4p9","https://github.com/9001/copyparty/security/advisories/GHSA-phv8-wgjp-g4p9"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:52.678897993+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-104102","score":0.00313,"percentile":0.23978,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-phv8-wgjp-g4p9","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-phv8-wgjp-g4p9","summary":"copyparty FTP: upload outside defined volumes (limited path traversal)","modified":"2026-10-15T20:30:08.635811757Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"copyparty","purl":"pkg:pypi/copyparty","ranges":["<1.20.19"],"fixed":["1.20.19"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
