A malicious, compromised, or man-in-the-middle SQL Server can send a continuous stream of TDS packets without setting the END_OF_MESSAGE status flag, causing unbounded direct-memory allocation on the client and leading to an out-of-memory crash. This occurs before authentication completes.\n\n\n\nThe impacted component is io.vertx:vertx-mssql-client.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.2},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/eclipse-vertx/vertx-sql-client/security/advisories/GHSA-fg6c-83v6-vhq4","https://gitlab.eclipse.org/security/cve-assignment/-/work_items/346"],"products":["eclipse:vert.x"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-102462","score":0.00321,"percentile":0.24873,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
