Prior to 1.13.6 and 1.14.5, when an application method handler throws an uncaught error, the server includes its error message in the status message sent to the client. The thrown error message is transmitted to the client, causing sensitive information disclosure when the message contains sensitive data. This issue is fixed in versions 1.13.6 and 1.14.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":3.7},"cwes":["CWE-550"],"references":["https://github.com/grpc/grpc-node/commit/350de32860428cc62473a00bee4035360690ffea","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-node/commit/7c5c5181159c6ddd292805881ef2cdec29bb475f","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-node/commit/e8329b122ca99ba10877e990c2f6edd40224fd0d","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-node/releases/tag/@grpc/grpc-js%401.13.6","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-node/releases/tag/@grpc/grpc-js%401.14.5"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:48.555445741+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-101915","score":0.00251,"percentile":0.16306,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-f596-whhp-79r4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-f596-whhp-79r4","summary":"@grpc/grpc-js: The server transmits some error messages thrown by method handlers to the client in status messages","modified":"2026-09-30T15:46:17.948201950Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@grpc/grpc-js","purl":"pkg:npm/%40grpc/grpc-js","ranges":["<1.13.6"],"fixed":["1.13.6"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@grpc/grpc-js","purl":"pkg:npm/%40grpc/grpc-js","ranges":[">=1.14.0 <1.14.5"],"fixed":["1.14.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
