{"cve":"CVE-2026-100348","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-15T16:17:30.477","modified":"2026-10-15T16:17:30.607","status":"Deferred","description":"kin-openapi is a Go project for handling OpenAPI files. Prior to 0.145.0, openapi3.Loader can dereference a nil SchemaRef.Value while resolving a self-referential additionalProperties JSON Reference such as a schema that points to its own additionalProperties member. Loading an attacker-controlled OpenAPI document through LoadFromData, LoadFromFile, or LoadFromURI reaches resolveComponent before document validation and can panic the loading process. Resolved additionalProperties schemas and ordinary recursive schemas do not take the vulnerable nil-value path. This issue is fixed in version 0.145.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://github.com/getkin/kin-openapi/commit/88aa64c7cbd03ecadbb419c473bdcaa8b0124c6b","https://github.com/getkin/kin-openapi/releases/tag/v0.145.0","https://github.com/getkin/kin-openapi/security/advisories/GHSA-mh7x-f8wq-4jhx"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T23:00:53.604569364+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-100348","score":0.00372,"percentile":0.30826,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mh7x-f8wq-4jhx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mh7x-f8wq-4jhx","summary":"kin-openapi spec loader panics on a self-referential additionalProperties $ref (nil-pointer DoS)","modified":"2026-10-15T20:30:07.050954802Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/getkin/kin-openapi","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/getkin/kin-openapi","ranges":["<0.145.0"],"fixed":["0.145.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
