{"cve":"CVE-2026-0596","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-31T15:16:10.843","modified":"2026-07-21T19:10:00.107","status":"Analyzed","description":"A command injection vulnerability exists in mlflow/mlflow when serving a model with `enable_mlserver=True`. The `model_uri` is embedded directly into a shell command executed via `bash -c` without proper sanitization. If the `model_uri` contains shell metacharacters, such as `$()` or backticks, it allows for command substitution and execution of attacker-controlled commands. This vulnerability affects the latest version of mlflow/mlflow and can lead to privilege escalation if a higher-privileged service serves models from a directory writable by lower-privileged users.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/2e905add-f9f5-4309-a3db-b17de5981285"],"products":["lfprojects:mlflow"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-0596","score":0.01393,"percentile":0.72373,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rvhj-8chj-8v3c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rvhj-8chj-8v3c","summary":"Mlflow: Command Injection when serving models with enable_mlserver=True","modified":"2026-06-29T12:26:35.888308712Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mlflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/mlflow","ranges":["<3.9.0"],"fixed":["3.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-424","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-424","summary":"Mlflow: Command Injection when serving models with enable_mlserver=True","modified":"2026-07-01T20:22:58.365246Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mlflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/mlflow","ranges":["<3.9.0"],"fixed":["3.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
