{"cve":"CVE-2025-9267","nvd":{"published":"2025-09-26T13:15:41.967","modified":"2026-10-09T10:10:00.193","status":"Deferred","description":"In Seagate Toolkit on Windows a vulnerability exists in the Toolkit Installer prior to versions 2.35.0.6 where it attempts to load DLLs from the current working directory without validating their origin or integrity. This behavior can be exploited by placing a malicious DLL in the same directory as the installer executable, leading to arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the user running the installer. The issue stems from the use of insecure DLL loading practices, such as relying on relative paths or failing to specify fully qualified paths when invoking system libraries.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.0},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-426","CWE-427"],"references":["https://www.seagate.com/product-security/#security-advisories","https://www.seagate.com/support/software/toolkit/","https://github.com/Tiger3080/CVE-2025-9267"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:10:08.713834912+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-9267","score":0.00253,"percentile":0.16649,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
