{"cve":"CVE-2025-8419","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-06T17:15:38.467","modified":"2026-08-31T01:16:47.980","status":"Modified","description":"A vulnerability was found in Keycloak-services. Special characters used during e-mail registration may perform SMTP Injection and unexpectedly send short unwanted e-mails. The email is limited to 64 characters (limited local part of the email), so the attack is limited to very shorts emails (subject and little data, the example is 60 chars). This flaw's only direct consequence is an unsolicited email being sent from the Keycloak server. However, this action could be a precursor for more sophisticated attacks.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-93"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2025:15336","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2025:15337","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2025:15338","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2025:15339","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2025-8419"],"products":["redhat:keycloak"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:06:45.861874017+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-8419","score":0.00573,"percentile":0.4738,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m4j5-5x4r-2xp9","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m4j5-5x4r-2xp9","summary":"Keycloak SMTP Inject Vulnerability","modified":"2025-09-17T21:12:30.459080Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.keycloak:keycloak-services","purl":"pkg:maven/org.keycloak/keycloak-services","ranges":["<26.2.8"],"fixed":["26.2.8"]},{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.keycloak:keycloak-services","purl":"pkg:maven/org.keycloak/keycloak-services","ranges":[">=26.3.0 <26.3.3"],"fixed":["26.3.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
