When processing XML tags with namespace prefixes, the parser fails to validate the prefix length before copying it to a fixed-size stack buffer. It allowed a crafted SOAP request with an oversized namespace prefix to cause memory corruption in stack. \n\nAn unauthenticated attacker on the same local network may exploit this flaw to enable remote code execution with elevated privileges, leading to full compromise of the device.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-120","CWE-121"],"references":["https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tapo-c200/v3/#Firmware-Release-Notes","https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tapo-c520ws/#Firmware-Release-Notes","https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tapo-c200/v3/#Firmware-Release-Notes","https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tapo-c520ws/#Firmware-Release-Notes","https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/4849/"],"products":["tp-link:tapo_c200_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:17:07.138532058+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-8065","score":0.0053,"percentile":0.44858,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
