{"cve":"CVE-2025-68726","nvd":{"published":"2025-12-24T11:16:01.900","modified":"2026-10-13T11:10:00.203","status":"Deferred","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\ncrypto: aead - Fix reqsize handling\n\nCommit afddce13ce81d (\"crypto: api - Add reqsize to crypto_alg\")\nintroduced cra_reqsize field in crypto_alg struct to replace type\nspecific reqsize fields. It looks like this was introduced specifically\nfor ahash and acomp from the commit description as subsequent commits\nadd necessary changes in these alg frameworks.\n\nHowever, this is being recommended for use in all crypto algs\ninstead of setting reqsize using crypto_*_set_reqsize(). Using\ncra_reqsize in aead algorithms, hence, causes memory corruptions and\ncrashes as the underlying functions in the algorithm framework have not\nbeen updated to set the reqsize properly from cra_reqsize. [1]\n\nAdd proper set_reqsize calls in the aead init function to properly\ninitialize reqsize for these algorithms in the framework.\n\n[1]: https://gist.github.com/Pratham-T/24247446f1faf4b7843e4014d5089f6b","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/12b413f5460c393d1151a37f591140693eca0f84","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/64377e66e187164bd6737112d07257f5f0feb681","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9b04d8f00569573796dd05397f5779135593eb24"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:17:07.138532058+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-68726","score":0.00413,"percentile":0.3523,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
