{"cve":"CVE-2025-68158","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-08T18:15:59.060","modified":"2026-10-14T17:10:00.210","status":"Modified","description":"Authlib is a Python library which builds OAuth and OpenID Connect servers. In versions 1.0.0 through 1.6.5, cache-backed state/request-token storage is not tied to the initiating user session, so CSRF is possible for any attacker that has a valid state (easily obtainable via an attacker-initiated authentication flow). When a cache is supplied to the OAuth client registry, FrameworkIntegration.set_state_data writes the entire state blob under _state_{app}_{state}, and get_state_data ignores the caller’s session altogether. This issue has been patched in version 1.6.6.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://github.com/authlib/authlib/commit/2808378611dd6fb2532b189a9087877d8f0c0489","https://github.com/authlib/authlib/commit/7974f45e4d7492ab5f527577677f2770ce423228","https://github.com/authlib/authlib/security/advisories/GHSA-fg6f-75jq-6523","https://github.com/authlib/authlib/security/advisories/GHSA-fg6f-75jq-6523"],"products":["authlib:authlib"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:19:41.481987139+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-68158","score":0.00272,"percentile":0.194,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-fg6f-75jq-6523","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-fg6f-75jq-6523","summary":"Authlib has 1-click Account Takeover vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:56:30.898731290Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"authlib","purl":"pkg:pypi/authlib","ranges":[">=1.0.0 <1.6.6"],"fixed":["1.6.6"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1201","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1201","summary":"Authlib has 1-click Account Takeover vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:46:32.335824503Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"authlib","purl":"pkg:pypi/authlib","ranges":[">=1.0.0 <1.6.6"],"fixed":["1.6.6"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
