{"cve":"CVE-2025-68154","nvd":{"published":"2025-12-16T19:16:00.257","modified":"2026-09-30T23:10:00.237","status":"Analyzed","description":"systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. In versions prior to 5.27.14, the `fsSize()` function in systeminformation is vulnerable to OS command injection on Windows systems. The optional `drive` parameter is directly concatenated into a PowerShell command without sanitization, allowing arbitrary command execution when user-controlled input reaches this function. The actual exploitability depends on how applications use this function. If an application does not pass user-controlled input to `fsSize()`, it is not vulnerable. Version 5.27.14 contains a patch.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/sebhildebrandt/systeminformation/commit/c52f9fd07fef42d2d8e8c66f75b42178da701c68","https://github.com/sebhildebrandt/systeminformation/security/advisories/GHSA-wphj-fx3q-84ch"],"products":["systeminformation:systeminformation"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:17:07.138532058+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-68154","score":0.12989,"percentile":0.963,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wphj-fx3q-84ch","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wphj-fx3q-84ch","summary":"systeminformation has a Command Injection vulnerability in fsSize() function on Windows","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:32.292476310Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"systeminformation","purl":"pkg:npm/systeminformation","ranges":["<5.27.14"],"fixed":["5.27.14"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
