An Integer Overflow vulnerability in node-forge versions 1.3.1 and below enables remote, unauthenticated attackers to craft ASN.1 structures containing OIDs with oversized arcs. These arcs may be decoded as smaller, trusted OIDs due to 32-bit bitwise truncation, enabling the bypass of downstream OID-based security decisions. This issue has been patched in version 1.3.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/digitalbazaar/forge/commit/3e0c35ace169cfca529a3e547a7848dc7bf57fdb","https://github.com/digitalbazaar/forge/security/advisories/GHSA-65ch-62r8-g69g"],"products":["digitalbazaar:forge"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:02.354564667+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-66030","score":0.00318,"percentile":0.24547,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-65ch-62r8-g69g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-65ch-62r8-g69g","summary":"node-forge is vulnerable to ASN.1 OID Integer Truncation","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:30.550089841Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"node-forge","purl":"pkg:npm/node-forge","ranges":["<1.3.2"],"fixed":["1.3.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
