In versions from 0.31.0 to 1.1.0, the EMOJI_REGEX used in the emoji action is vulnerable to a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) attack. A short, maliciously crafted string (e.g., <100 characters) can cause the regex engine to consume excessive CPU time (minutes), leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) for the application. This issue has been patched in version 1.2.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-1333"],"references":["https://github.com/open-circle/valibot/commit/cfb799db301a953a0950d5c05a34a3ab121262dc","https://github.com/open-circle/valibot/security/advisories/GHSA-vqpr-j7v3-hqw9"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:27.712498749+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-66020","score":0.00331,"percentile":0.2601,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vqpr-j7v3-hqw9","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vqpr-j7v3-hqw9","summary":"Valibot has a ReDoS vulnerability in `EMOJI_REGEX`","modified":"2025-11-26T20:28:24.415212Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"valibot","purl":"pkg:npm/valibot","ranges":[">=0.31.0 <1.2.0"],"fixed":["1.2.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
