Prior to 0.6.37, a Stored XSS vulnerability was discovered in Open-WebUI's Notes PDF download functionality. An attacker can import a Markdown file containing malicious SVG tags into Notes, allowing them to execute arbitrary JavaScript code and steal session tokens when a victim downloads the note as PDF. This vulnerability can be exploited by any authenticated user, and unauthenticated external attackers can steal session tokens from users (both admin and regular users) by sharing specially crafted markdown files. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.6.37.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/commit/03cc6ce8eb5c055115406e2304fbf7e3338b8dce","https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-8wvc-869r-xfqf","https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-8wvc-869r-xfqf"],"products":["openwebui:open_webui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:40.427100871+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-65959","score":0.00235,"percentile":0.14282,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8wvc-869r-xfqf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8wvc-869r-xfqf","summary":"Open WebUI Vulnerable to Stored DOM XSS via Note 'Download PDF'","modified":"2025-12-05T12:36:57.484947Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:npm/open-webui","ranges":["<0.6.37"],"fixed":["0.6.37"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
