Prior to SingularityCE 4.3.5 and SingularityPRO 4.1.11 and 4.3.5, if a user relies on LSM restrictions to prevent malicious operations then, under certain circumstances, an attacker can redirect the LSM label write operation so that it is ineffective. The attacker must cause the user to run a malicious container image that redirects the mount of /proc to the destination of a shared mount, either known to be configured on the target system, or that will be specified by the user when running the container. The attacker must also control the content of the shared mount, for example through another malicious container which also binds it, or as a user with relevant permissions on the host system it is bound from. This vulnerability is fixed in SingularityCE 4.3.5 and SingularityPRO 4.1.11 and 4.3.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L","score":4.5},"cwes":["CWE-61","CWE-706"],"references":["https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-fh74-hm69-rqjw","https://github.com/opencontainers/runc/security/advisories/GHSA-cgrx-mc8f-2prm","https://github.com/sylabs/singularity/commit/27882963879a7af1699fd6511c3f5f1371d80f33","https://github.com/sylabs/singularity/commit/5af3e790c40593591dfc26d0692e4d4b21c29ba0","https://github.com/sylabs/singularity/pull/3850"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:02.354564667+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-64750","score":0.0016,"percentile":0.05162,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wwrx-w7c9-rf87","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wwrx-w7c9-rf87","summary":"Singluarity ineffectively applies selinux / apparmor LSM process labels","modified":"2026-02-04T04:21:29.220066Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","ranges":[">=4.2.0-rc.1 <4.3.5"],"fixed":["4.3.5"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","ranges":["<4.1.11"],"fixed":["4.1.11"]}]},{"id":"GO-2025-4177","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2025-4177","summary":"Singularity ineffectively applies of selinux / apparmor LSM process labels in github.com/sylabs/singularity","modified":"2026-03-03T04:57:44.379700Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sylabs/singularity","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sylabs/singularity","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sylabs/singularity/v4","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
