{"cve":"CVE-2025-64718","nvd":{"published":"2025-11-13T16:15:57.153","modified":"2026-10-07T21:10:00.200","status":"Analyzed","description":"js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper. In js-yaml before 4.1.1 and 3.14.2, it's possible for an attacker to modify the prototype of the result of a parsed yaml document via prototype pollution (`__proto__`). All users who parse untrusted yaml documents may be impacted. The problem is patched in js-yaml 4.1.1 and 3.14.2. Users can protect against this kind of attack on the server by using `node --disable-proto=delete` or `deno` (in Deno, pollution protection is on by default).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-1321"],"references":["https://github.com/nodeca/js-yaml/commit/383665ff4248ec2192d1274e934462bb30426879","https://github.com/nodeca/js-yaml/commit/5278870a17454fe8621dbd8c445c412529525266","https://github.com/nodeca/js-yaml/issues/730#issuecomment-3549635876","https://github.com/nodeca/js-yaml/security/advisories/GHSA-mh29-5h37-fv8m","https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-mh29-5h37-fv8m"],"products":["nodeca:js-yaml"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:02.354564667+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-64718","score":0.00423,"percentile":0.36322,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mh29-5h37-fv8m","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mh29-5h37-fv8m","summary":"js-yaml has prototype pollution in merge (<<)","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:58.469126910Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"js-yaml","purl":"pkg:npm/js-yaml","ranges":[">=4.0.0 <4.1.1"],"fixed":["4.1.1"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"js-yaml","purl":"pkg:npm/js-yaml","ranges":["<3.14.2"],"fixed":["3.14.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
