In versions prior to 2.0.6, a specially crafted Brotli-compressed envelope can cause Bugsink to spend excessive CPU time in decompression, leading to denial of service. This can be done if the DSN is known, which it is in many common setups (JavaScript, Mobile Apps). The issue is patched in Bugsink 2.0.6. The vulnerability is similar to, but distinct from, another brotli-related problem in Bugsink, GHSA-fc2v-vcwj-269v/CVE-2025-64508.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/bugsink/bugsink/security/advisories/GHSA-rrx3-2x4g-mq2h"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:14:53.307938015+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-64509","score":0.00337,"percentile":0.27197,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rrx3-2x4g-mq2h","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rrx3-2x4g-mq2h","summary":"Bugsink is vulnerable to unauthenticated remote DoS via crafted Brotli input (via CPU)","modified":"2026-07-07T17:56:07.263674404Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bugsink","purl":"pkg:pypi/bugsink","ranges":["<2.0.6"],"fixed":["2.0.6"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1227","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1227","summary":"Bugsink is vulnerable to unauthenticated remote DoS via crafted Brotli input (via CPU)","modified":"2026-07-07T17:47:33.578412163Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bugsink","purl":"pkg:pypi/bugsink","ranges":["<2.0.6"],"fixed":["2.0.6"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
