{"cve":"CVE-2025-64501","nvd":{"published":"2025-11-10T22:15:37.683","modified":"2026-10-18T21:10:00.120","status":"Deferred","description":"ProsemirrorToHtml is a JSON converter which takes ProseMirror-compatible JSON and outputs HTML. In versions 0.2.0 and below, the `prosemirror_to_html` gem is vulnerable to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks through malicious HTML attribute values. While tag content is properly escaped, attribute values are not, allowing attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript code. Applications that use `prosemirror_to_html` to convert ProseMirror documents to HTML, user-generated ProseMirror content, and end users viewing the rendered HTML output are all at risk of attack. This issue is fixed in version 0.2.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","score":7.6},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/etaminstudio/prosemirror_to_html/commit/4d59f94f550bcabeec30d298791bbdd883298ad8","https://github.com/etaminstudio/prosemirror_to_html/security/advisories/GHSA-52c5-vh7f-26fx"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:14:53.307938015+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-64501","score":0.00237,"percentile":0.14544,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-52c5-vh7f-26fx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-52c5-vh7f-26fx","summary":"Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability through unescaped HTML attribute values","modified":"2026-02-03T03:08:25.970585Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"prosemirror_to_html","purl":"pkg:gem/prosemirror_to_html","ranges":["<0.2.1"],"fixed":["0.2.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
