Prior to 2.10.9 and 2.11.4, session ids could be fixed by an attacker if the site is configured with server-side session storage (CKAN uses cookie-based session storage by default). The attacker would need to either set a cookie on the victim's browser or steal the victim's currently valid session. Session identifiers are now regenerated after each login. This vulnerability has been fixed in CKAN 2.10.9 and 2.11.4","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-384"],"references":["https://github.com/ckan/ckan/commit/c2fe437f88be850a6edf7a32470772428819fab5","https://github.com/ckan/ckan/security/advisories/GHSA-2hvh-cw5c-8q8q"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:14:53.307938015+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-64100","score":0.00298,"percentile":0.22229,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2hvh-cw5c-8q8q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2hvh-cw5c-8q8q","summary":"CKAN vulnerable to fixed session IDs","modified":"2026-07-07T17:56:19.787645326Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"ckan","purl":"pkg:pypi/ckan","ranges":[">=2.10.0 <2.10.9"],"fixed":["2.10.9"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"ckan","purl":"pkg:pypi/ckan","ranges":[">=2.11.0 <2.11.4"],"fixed":["2.11.4"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1246","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1246","summary":"CKAN vulnerable to fixed session IDs","modified":"2026-07-07T17:47:27.135173282Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"ckan","purl":"pkg:pypi/ckan","ranges":[">=2.10.0 <2.10.9",">=2.11.0 <2.11.4"],"fixed":["2.10.9","2.11.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
